Joe H Crowley, born in 1942 in Hartsville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a life marked by faith, service, and devotion to family.
Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. Following his military service, he worked at SONOCO, from which he later retired. He was a faithful member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, where his walk with Christ was evident in both word and deed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Carnell Crowley; his beloved wife, Helen G. Crowley; his brother, John Gary Crowley (Mazie); his sisters, Ruth Vizzi, Aline Hall (Paul Sr.), and Betty Hall (Dalton); and his nieces and nephews, Toby Hall (Jean), Tommy Harding, Scott Crowley, Tony Crowley, Phyllis Powell Crowley, Debbie Harding, Jan Osborne, and Nikki Moore.
Joe is survived by his son, Joe Crowley II (Angie), and his cherished grandson, Alex Crowley, both of Roebuck, South Carolina, as well as several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Joe never met a stranger. He loved his friends as family and rarely had a conversation without sharing his faith, always making sure others knew about Jesus and encouraging them to know Him personally.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff and administration at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson, South Carolina, for the loving care, dignity, and respect shown to Joe during his final months.
They also wish to thank his church family at Cedar Creek Baptist Church for the unwavering love, prayers, and support they have shown to the family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Friday, January 2, 2026 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Pastor Jeff Williams will officiate with burial in Gum Branch Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
Norton Funeral Home and Crematory are honored to be of service to the Crowley family.
