Jeanette Watkins Gainey

Hartsville, S.C.

Jeanette Watkins Gainey age 82 went to her Heavenly Home on July 3. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 at the Clyde Church of God. Bishop Daniel Eli Poston will officiate. Burial will be in the Clyde Church of God Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gainey was born in Hartsville a daughter of the late Marion D. Watkins, Sr. and Annie Mae Johnson Watkins. She is a lifetime member of Clyde Church of God where she taught Sunday School for 56 years and was the church pianist for a number of years. She is a prayer worrier and a great example to others in their Christian Life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Surviving are one daughter, Lisa Easterling, Hartsville; two sons, Russell (Angela) Gainey, McBee and Steve (Wendy) Gainey, Hartsville; six grandchildren, Dustin Watkins, Rachael (Stephen) O’Dell, Clarissa Gainey, Daniel Gainey, Heather (Louis, Jr.) Norment and Brent Gainey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Doc Gainey, Jr.; sister, Vera Mae Kelly; two brothers, Marion D. Watkins, Jr. and Carl Watkins.
