Janice Segars Tiller

It is with sad hearts that we announce the death of Mrs. Janice Marie Segars Tiller, age 76. Mrs. Tiller passed away May 20 while at McLeod RMC .

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2:00 at the Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Rob Brazell will officiate.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00-1:30pm at Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville Chapel.

Janice was born in Bishopville, SC on January 14, 1950. She was the daughter of the late James Russell Segars and the late Nannie Catherine Kelley Segars. Janice graduated from Bishopville High School in 1968.

Janice married the love of her life, John Daniel Tiller, in 1968. The lovebirds spent a year in Germany before returning home to start their family. She spent her days caring for her husband and sons, as well as babysitting the children of family members and her grandchildren.

Janice volunteered alongside her husband and sons for the Lee County Fire Department for many years. Janice was a faithful member of Bethlehem United Methodist of Bishopville in her younger years, St. Matthew United Methodist while her sons were young, and Mt. Elon Baptist since moving to Lamar.

Janice is survived by her husband John “Johnny” Tiller of the home; sons Kevin (Denise) Tiller of Timmonsville; Daniel (Jennifer) Tiller of Lamar; grandchildren Clayton Daniel (Allison) Tiller of Timmonsville and Lynsey Bryce Tiller of Lamar; her brother James Russell (Emma) Segars Jr. of Bishopville; sister-in-law Pat Segars of Knoxville, TN; and numerous extended family members who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Dr. John Kelley Segars.
