James Wiley Alexander
April 2, 1958 – January 9, 2021
The family has chosen to honor Wiley’s wishes by holding a private family graveside service due to the current COVID epidemic. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Those who loved Wiley will be able to view his service on Facebook live through Norton Funeral Home’s Facebook Page. The service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday January 14, 2021. Wiley will be available for viewing and the family welcomes friends to come by and pay their respects anytime on Wednesday, January 13, from 9 until 5 at Norton Funeral Home of Hartsville.
Wiley was the son of the late Jeannie Huggins and Boyd M. Alexander. He was a devoted and active member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Lydia, SC.
He was a proud member of the Bishopville Masonic Lodge No. 104, Darlington County Red Fez Club, Omar Shrine Temple, Omar Jolly Jeepsters and Sumter Yorkrite Bodies. He was a pharmacist and part owner of Bishopville Drug Company for 19 years.
His enjoyable and rewarding times included his mission trips to Honduras, traveling with his brother Mike on many trips to the Holy Land, participating in community arts events and helping anyone in need.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, DeLois Galloway Alexander, son Wesley Michael Alexander, Brothers Rev. Dr. B. Mike (Betsy) Alexander of Murrells Inlet, SC, Whit (Beth) Alexander of Greenville, SC, sister-in-law Nancy Galloway of Columbia, SC and beloved Boston Terrier, Mozie.He was preceded in death by his parents and son Karl Edward Alexander.
