James Hunter, Sr.

Memorial service for James R. Hunter, Sr. age 75, will be held Saturday at 2:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Cliff Leonard will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Hunter was born in Chesterfield County a son of the late George W. Hunter, Sr. and Cullen Gainey Todd. He worked at Sonoco Products Company for 16 years and was retired from the National Guard after 23 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.

Surviving are one son, James R. (Catfish) Hunter, Jr., Hartsville; one daughter, Candace R. Hunter, Myrtle Beach; three brothers Allen, Paul and Gene Hunter, all of Hartsville; one sister, Lula Howle, Hartsville. He was preceded in death by one brother, George W. Hunter, Jr. and two sisters, Lessie Ogle and Lucille Gainey.
