James Gardner Howle, Sr.

Funeral services for James Gardner Howle, Sr. age 72 will be held Sunday at 3:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Marvin Griggs will officiate. Burial will be in the LDS Cemetery in Society Hill. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the Chapel.

Mr. Howle was born in Hartsville a son of the late Kenneth Boyd Howle and Lucia Mae Tyner Howle. He was retired from the Nucor Steel and was a Charter member of the Byrdtown Fire Department.

Surviving are one son, James G. Howle, Jr., Hartsville; one granddaughter, Jocelyn Rose McDaniels, Lamar; his mother in law, Virginia Gainey, Hartsville;two brothers, Henry Howle, Hartsville and Donald (Sharon) Howle, Hartsville; three sisters, Sallie Jackson, Hartsville, Hattie (Wayne) McElveen, Hartsville and Judy Mason, Hartsville; sister in law, Faye Howle, Society Hill; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death  by his wife, Sylvia Gainey Howle; one daughter, Susan Raye Howle; two brothers, Kenneth Pete Howle and Richard Howle.
