Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services for Jackie Derro Avant, age 82, who passed away July 29, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.Jackie was born in Hartsville a son of the late William L. & Myrtle Clanton Avant. He had worked in Textile and retired as a Security Guard. Surviving are one son, Jackie (Debbie) Avant, Hartsville; Children, Renee (Don) Quint, Statham, GA ,Teresa (Wayne) McGee, Hartsville, Brenda (Dan) Kruse, Hartsville, Angie Rewis, GA,Tammy (Jerry) OCarroll, Statham, GA; one sister, Shelby (Rufus) Boan, Hartsville; one brother, Bill Carroll (Gail) Avant, Royston, GA; 12 Grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
