With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mr. Jack Dexter Byrd, who departed this life on Friday, July 3rd, 2026, at the age of 34.
Born on December 4th, 1991, Jack was a loving son, father, brother, and friend, whose kind heart and generous spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and was the type of person who would put others before himself without expecting anything in return.
Jack worked in construction, where he was known as a dedicated, dependable, and hardworking man. He took great pride in his work and earned the respect of those around him through his strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever he was needed.
Jack is survived by his loving father, Rock Byrd; his mother, Jeanie Quick; his brothers, Rocky Byrd and Starter Byrd; sister, Brittany Byrd; grandmother, Pam Byrd; his beloved children: Austyn, Dalton, Madilyn, Addilyn, and Xander; along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will miss him deeply.
Jack will be remembered for his compassionate heart, his selfless nature, his infections smile, and the love he gave so freely. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made on the lives of those around him will never be forgotten.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. While we grieve his passing, we take comfort in the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind.
His funeral service will be conducted at 11 o’clock on Tuesday morning, July 7th, 2026, from the Hartsville Chapel of Norton Funeral Home. The committal will follow in Westview Cemetery, and the family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Norton Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to be with Mr. Byrd’s family during this time.
