Hartsville, SC

Hyman Beasley Lee, born on August 30, 1941, in Hartsville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025. His profound impact on those around him will be cherished by his family and friends who remember him as a dedicated husband, father, and beloved papa.

Hyman proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard Reserves, and later, he retired as a lineman with R.H. Bouligny Inc. His career took on a second calling as a courier driver for Impact Imaging, a job he thoroughly enjoyed, relishing every trip he took on the road. Driven by his love of travel, Hyman always embraced the opportunity to be on the move, whether it was for work or visiting loved ones.

Throughout his life, Hyman was a devoted member of Wesley Chapel. He loved the simple pleasures that life brought him, particularly enjoying New York By The Slice Pepperoni Pizza, sugarush hot dogs, and indulging in the excitement of buying lottery tickets. A passionate Nascar Racing fan, he enjoyed sharing these interests with his family. He looked forward to spending time with them and always found joy in his daily early morning walks, never deterred by rain, sleet, or snow.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara King Lee; son Rusty Lee (Tierra); daughter Rebecca Ponder (Doug); and a treasured group of grandchildren: Rocket, Sasha, Malcolm, Clementine, Gavin, Corvin, and Sebastian, Tryston and Cloe. He also leaves behind close family friends, Heather Clayton and Jessica Norris, a multitude of nieces and nephews, in-laws, and numerous additional family members who cherished his presence and love dearly.

Hyman was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Tossie Lee, as well as his brothers, Robert Lee and Charles Lee.

A visitation will take place on July 19, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church of Lydia, located at 3061 Wesley Chapel Rd, Lamar, SC, 29069.
