A Celebration of Life Service for Geri Allen will be held 4:00pm Monday, September 19, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Pine Ridge.  Rev. Wayne Cash will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home and Crematory.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. 

Geri went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 15, 2022.  She was born in Cheraw, SC the daughter of Gail Griffin Allen and the late Gerald BoDean Allen.  She was employed with the Darlington County School District, working at a number of schools in this area as a Cafeteria Operator.  Some of the places she has worked, D&S Subs and Pam’s Restaurant.  She was a 1992 graduate of Hartsville High School.   She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pine Ridge.  Geri was a Majority Member of Hartsville Assembly No. 34 (Rainbow Girls).  Even though Geri was a homebody, she never met a stranger, she loved everyone and everyone loved her.  Geri and Kenny were members of a Car Club in Hartsville, they also were members of a Rifle Shooting Club, Geri finished as the 3rd best overall shooter.  She loved her cat Girlie-Girl, whom she had as a companion for 25 years before her passing this past August.  She was an avid Gamecock fan.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Gail Griffin Allen; sister Ginger Allen Shoemake; special friend of 26 years, Kenny Adams; aunt, Deloris (Wayne) Isgett; uncles, Donnie (Susan) Griffin, Ken (Peggy) Downey; nieces, Rebecca S. Swearingen (Corey), Kayla Schmeltz (Timothy); nephew, Bobby Shoemake; great nieces, Scarlette Swearingen, Kaelynn and Kayson Faile; great nephew, Austin Shoemake; sister friends for life, Channan Hicks, Paige Phelps, Becky Keith, Anna McElveen, Ann Boone, Scarlette Mixon, Margaret Jordan and Dugan Girls; brother friends, Tom-Tom Tyner and Troy Tyner.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Gerald BoDean Allen, maternal grandparents, O.F. and Virginia Downey and Louis W. Griffin; paternal grandparents, O.B. and Vera Allen.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Agape Care Hospice for the love and care they gave to Geri and the Allen family during her illness.
