Hartsville, S.C. Graveside services for Gerald Wilfred Thomas, age 73, who passed away August 9, will be held Wednesday at 1:00 at the Florence National Cemetery with Full Military Honors directed by Norton Funeral Home. Father Karl Roesch will officiate. Mr. Thomas was born in Chicago a son of the late John & Lil Dunn Thomas. He was retired from the US Navy after 26 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Bettie Small Thomas, Hartsville; one daughter, Rachel Thomas (Scott) Stacey, Hartsville; one brother, Jimmy (Sandy) Thomas, Chicago; two sisters, Shirley (Bruce) Boersma, Chicago and Nancy Thomas, Arizona; one grandson, Barrett Thomas Stacey, Hartsville. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Thomas. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stone Mark Lane, Columbia, S.C. 29210
