Frankie Darnell

A Celebration of Life service for Frankie Darnell age 61 will be held 6:00pm Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home.  Pastor Rodney Howard will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Frankie went to his heavenly home early Saturday morning with his loving family by his side.  Frankie was born in Hartsville, SC on June 30, 1960.  He is the son of the late Boyd Joseph Darnell and Virginia Gail Walters.

Frankie was blessed with several gifts that played important roles in his life, drumming, art and his immaculate craftsmanship in carpentry.  His family will immensely miss him, the love he had for others and his unselfish willingness to always help others when he was able.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Virginia Gail Walters, Hartsville; sister, Dawn Michelle (Kevin) Brand, Hartsville; niece, Dr. Alexis Kaitlyn Blackmon, whom he loved beyond measure; also surviving are his step brothers, Michael (Tammy) Walters, Eddie (Heidi) Walters, Freddie (Sherry) Walters; step sister, Michelle Walters.

He was preceded in death by his father, Boyd Joseph Darnell, brother, Kenneth Wayne Darnell, maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Howard, paternal grandparents, Anne Wild, Richard Darnell and his stepfather, Charles E. Walters.

The family would like to give a special thanks to McLeod Cancer Clinic and nurse Nikki from McLeod Hospice Care for their endless compassion and care for Frankie.  They would also like to thank each fundraiser donor “Fishing for Frankie” and “Cookies for a Cause” for their support.

In Lieu of flowers the family has asked donations be made to Norton Funeral Home to help with Frankie's funeral expenses.
