Faye Devon Mullis

December 11, 1932 — January 29, 2021

Mrs. Faye Devon Mullis, 88, of Hartsville, passed away Friday evening, January 29th, 2021, while at Carolina Pines.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday morning, February 2nd, 2021, from Westview Cemetery with Reverend Kitral Benton officiating.  The family will be receiving friends following the service at the graveside.  Due to health concerns, the family requests that masks be worn for the service.

Mrs. Mullis was born in Concord, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Rachelle H. & Mae McGuirt Knight.  Faye retired from A.O. Smith after many years of service and was a member of Whispering Pines Baptist Church.  She greatly loved her family, especially her grandchildren who affectionately called her “chubby.”

Surviving are her daughters, Maxine (Paul) Johnson and Linda Mullis both of Hartsville; grandchildren: Trina (Lee) Newsome of Hartsville, and Candace (Christopher) Bailey of Fayetteville, North Carolina; great-grandchildren: Jake Newsome, Bryce Newsome, Ella Tolson, and Max Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband, Max Mullis; sons, Ronnie Mullis and Keith Mullis.

Memorials may be made to the Whispering Pines Baptist Church Building Fund at 2182 North Fifth Street, Hartsville, South Carolina 29550.
