Ernest Gainey, Sr.

Hartsville - Mr. Ernest Paul Gainey, Sr., 53, passed away Sunday, July 28th, 2019, at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Wednesday morning, July 31st, 2019, in the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home.

A native and lifelong residence of Hartsville, Mr. Gainey was a son of the late James Charles & Bertha Mae Cagle Gainey.  Paul loved riding around, listening to music and watching Westerns, but his greatest love was his family.  He would not hesitate to do without in order for someone else to have.

He is survived by his children: Foots (Cristin) Gainey, Samantha (Donnie) Jones, Selena (Andrew) Powell, Cheyanne Gainey, Katlyn Amerson, and Madison Amerson all of Hartsville; 11 grandchildren; and a sister, Paula Baker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles Clifton Gainey; and a brother, James Wesley Gainey.
