Earle Franklin Aughtry

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Mr. Earle Franklin Aughtry age 82. Mr. Aughtry passed away March 29 while at Carolina Pines RMC in Hartsville. Mr. Aughtry was born and raised in Cayce, SC, and most recently of Santee, SC.

 He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved God, his family, and the Carolina Gamecocks. A man who truly enjoyed life, he deeply loved a good laugh, a quick shopping trip, eating out, and any time spent with the people he cherished. To all who knew him, he was affectionately called “Daddy Earle.”

 Earle worked for many years as a trusted tax accountant and was known for his kindness, integrity, and quiet strength. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joy Aughtry; daughters Christy Aughtry-Smith (Jason), Christina Aughtry, and Dawn Aughtry; son Michael”Scott” Aughtry; grandson Christopher Smith; and great-grandchildren Alistair Aughtry and Kymberlynn LaSane. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Eleanor Aughtry, and his daughter Belinda “Lindy” Aughtry. Earle will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know him.

A Memorial Service will be held later and will be announced by Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville.
