Hartsville, S.C.
Mrs. Dorothy Griggs Kelley Linton, age 91, went to her Heavenly Home on September 5 with her loving family by her side.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Madaris and Rev. Lin Kirkman will officiate. Burial will be in the Kelleytown Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Linton was born in Hartsville, a daughter of the late Carl W. Griggs and Kate Winburn Griggs. She was a member of the Kelleytown Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She had a special love for her family and was an avid animal lover.
Dorothy was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as grandma, great grandma, and even becoming a great great grandma. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went. Her favorite place to be was in the kitchen cooking for her family, and loved to watch everyone fight over her macaroni and cheese pie. The laughs and memories had at her family dinners will be memories we cherish forever. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Surviving is one daughter, Gedelle (Dennis) Horton, Hartsville; three sons, Raymond G Kelley, McBee, Robert James Kelley, Hartsville and Todd D. (Lisa) Kelley, McBee; one brother, Joe (Annie Ruth) Griggs, Darlington; several grand, great and great great grandchildren, three daughters in law, Mary Ann Kelley Ingram, Hartsville, Anna Kelley Fountain, Bishopville and Charlene Kelley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Jim Frank Kelley, Sr., J. Albert Kelley and William Alexander Linton; three sons, Jim Frank Kelley, Jr., Travis W. Kelley and Glen U. Kelley; one daughter, Elaine Reaves.
The family would like to give a special Thank You to Dundee Manor and Crescent Hospice.
