David Michael Watford

     It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. David Michael Watford. David passed away on Sunday afternoon, August 10th, 2025, while at MUSC – Florence Medical Center, with his family by his side. He was 75 years old.

    Mr. Watford was born in Bishopville, a son of the late Louis & Helen Kennedy Watford. David worked in the autobody industry all his life, starting when he was 14 years old. He greatly loved spending time in the mountains and will be remembered as “the life of the party.” He also enjoyed his Miller Lights and watching NASCAR racing.

    Surviving is his ex-wife, Joy Watford; grandchild, Noah Flowers; siblings: Gena (Richard) Johnson, Carolyn Oneal, Sherry (James) McGee, Louis (Pam) Watford, Jr., and Kathy Campbell; also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kelly Watford; and a sister, Janet Dalton.

    In keeping with Mr. Watford’s request, a Celebration of Life will be held at 2 o’clock on Saturday afternoon, August 16th, 2025, from his childhood home at 140 Oak Ave. China Grove, NC 28023.
