A man of strong faith, Moose faithfully attended Christian Fellowship Assemblies of God. He spent most of his life in Hartsville and was known by everyone who met him for his love, kindness, and humor.
He had a deep passion for Civil War reenacting, where he formed lifelong friendships and gained many brothers through the hobby. Moose also loved motorcycles and remained devoted to his motorcycle family, the Sons of Thunder, until the very end.
In his free time, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and cherished every moment he had with his family and friends.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Lynn Williams, the mother of his daughters; his two daughters, Dixie Sauls of Hartsville and Cambria Sauls of Hartsville; and his beloved grandchildren, Caleb Sauls, Lasha Sauls, King Sauls, Ilyah Sauls, Kaydence Baker, Noah Baker, and Ky'leigh Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis “Bubba” Sauls and Mary Ann Sauls, as well as many dear motorcycle brothers and reenactor brothers.
Moose worked for many years at CP&L and later at AO Smith Calibration Lab. He was proud of his education and accomplishments, graduating from Hartsville High School in 1969, earning a welding degree from Florence-Darlington Technical College in the 1970s, and graduating from Wingate University in 1991.
A family-led memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, March 14, 2026, at Christian Fellowship Assemblies of God in Hartsville, South Carolina.
