Clyde Cassidy, Sr.

A Service of Remembrance for Clyde G. Cassidy, Sr. age 69 will be held 3:00pm Monday, August 5, 2019 at Chapel of Norton Funeral Home.  Mr. Roger Griggs will officiate.  A time to meet and fellowship with the family will be Monday, 1:30-3:00 at the funeral home.

Clyde passed away August 1, 2019 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.  He was born in Bennettsville, SC the son of Dock and Rosa Rayfield Cassidy.   He was owner and operator of Video City for 34 years.   He was a beloved coach, often known as “Coach Clyde”, he loved coaching youth baseball in the Hartsville area.  Clyde played in the 1967 Shrine Bowl.  He had a contagious laugh and a mouth with no filter.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Diane Cassidy, Hartsville; sons, Jerry Cassidy, Hartsville, Trevor Cassidy, Hartsville; daughter, Brittany (Landon Jolly) Cassidy, Hartsville; grandchildren, Tripp Cassidy, Grant Cassidy, Jerod Cassidy, Andrea Cassidy, Lillie Cassidy, Kale Cassidy, Kinley Herring; great grandchildren, Wrenlee Cassidy, Emma Rose Cassidy; brother, Roger (Ann) Griggs, Bennettsville, Mike Griggs, Bennettsville; his pride and joy, his dog Coco.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Andrea “Andi” Cassidy, brother, Walton Cassidy, sister, Opal Vick.
