Charlie Ray Self

Mr. Charlie Ray Self, 65, of Hartsville, passed away Wednesday morning, August 3^rd, 2022, while at home with his family.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 on Monday morning, August 8^th, 2022, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home with burial following in the Mt. Elon Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends Sunday afternoon, from 3-5 at the funeral home.

Born in Chesterfield, Mr. Self was a son of the late Gerald Wade & Evelyn Adams Self.  Charlie loved working towards restoring old cars, especially Corvettes.  He was a very hard worker with an amazing work ethic.  He made sure his children and especially grandchildren got anything they wanted. 

Surviving are his wife, Fairlyn White Self of the home; children: Anthony Ray “Tony” Self, Sr., Felicity (Jody) Thibodeau, Stephanie Eaddy Russell, and Lauren Eaddy all of Hartsville; grandchildren: AJ Self, Eli Russell, Isabel Thibodeau, Zachary Geddings; great-grandchild, Veronica Self; and a brother, David Self.  Also, his 5 pound bodyguard, (puppy) JJ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ezel Self.
