Hartsville, SC--Carolyn Hall Mollo, 82, passed peacefully with the love of her family. The widow of Donald Armond Joseph Mollo, Carolyn was a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
The daughter of Eula Mae Tolson and Creighton Hall, Carolyn was the middle of 5 children and known as “pumpkin” because of her Halloween birthday. Carolyn and Don met during his station at Fort Sumter. They eloped when she was 18 and enjoyed a long marriage, many moves and new adventures as they raised their eight children all over the east coast. They were a perfect pair.
Carolyn is fondly remembered by her children and grandchildren for her never ending knowledge on so many subjects. She always knew the solution for an ailment or the ingredient for a recipe. She could turn any ingredients into an incredibly delicious meal and magically had enough to feed anyone who joined for supper.
She is survived by her eight children. Donna (Charlie) Palmer of North Augusta, Todd (Suzanne) Mollo, Hendersonville, NC, Cathy (Tony) Prozzi of Hartsville, Gary (Phyllis) Mollo of Fort Mill, Kelley Cole (Bobby) of Hartsville, Amy(James) Everhart of Tennessee, Lisa Mollo of Nashville, TN, and Michelle(Kevin) Renck of Hartsville.
Grandchildren: Lauren (Dulton) Wells, Reagan (Robert) Blanchard, Jamie Palmer, Daniel (Alyssa) Mollo, Sarah (Ryan) Thompson, Hanna Mollo (Seth), Jacob (Kiersten) Cole, Maxwell Cole, Rebecca (Alden) Shannon, Matthew Mollo. She was welcomed by her granddaughter, Leanna Gayle Catoe, who the family misses tremendously.
It brought Carolyn tremendous joy to see her grandchildren build families of their own. She was great-grandmother to: Skylar, Emma, Leo, Navy, Shepherd, Ella, Waylon, Essie, Bear and Audrey.
Carolyn is also survived by her sister, Betty Jean Sarasin and brother, Pedro (Diane) Hall of Hartsville in addition to several nieces and nephews.
