Carolyn Edna Garrett Cagle

Carolyn Edna Garrett Cagle, age 74, was called to walk her eternal path on 8/31/2022. Born January 6, 1948, to Paul Garrett and Edna Garrett in Spartanburg, SC, she was a rock of support to all who knew her.  

As a long-time resident of Inman, SC, Carolyn enjoyed cooking, baking, jigsaw puzzles, and of course tending to her animals. She’ll also be remembered as an astute and passionate tax professional that helped her community to understand “Tax Avoidance and not Tax Evasion”.  

She attended Fair Forest High, Dorman High, and Russell High School, class of 1966.  She completed her studies at Rutledge College in 1986.

Married to James William Cagle in 1966, she mothered 5 beautiful children, before embarking on the journey of single motherhood. 

She’s survived by her 5 children, Sadell Cagle, Tanya Cagle, James Cagle, Jason Cagle (Caroline), and Amber Adams (Clarence). As well as 4 stepchildren, Cindy Hampton (Michael), Ginger Tsivinskyy (Sergey), Chris Cagle, and Lisa Aftuck. That group has created a plethora of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The only girl in a family of 4, her delicious pecan pies and boiled cookies will be missed by her 3 brothers, Paul Garrett (Linda), John Garrett (Barbara), and Gerald Garrett. Her favorite times were family holidays where she would cook up a storm, enough to feed an army. 

Visitation will be held at Holston Creek Baptist Church, Fellowship Building, @ 311 Holston Creek Church Rd Inman, SC 29349 on September 17th from 4 - 6 pm.
