Calvin Wesley Lyles was born in Darlington County, SC, on July 25, 1947. He won his eternal wings on Jan 16, 2021, surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was the only son of Curtis Wesley Lyles and Fannie Rea Polson Lyles. He began working for Billy Brooks at the age of 9, fixing small engines. This became a life long love of his. He proudly served his country in the US Army, from 1968 until 1971, and served a tour of duty in Germany. After leaving military service, he began working at Sonoco in Hartsville. He then worked for Pepsi Cola in Hartsville for nearly 15 years. Later he worked for Tedder Hardware for several years, finally retiring from Darlington County Water and Sewer.
He is survived by his wife Jill King Lyles; two daughters: Leslie (Tommy) Malloy, from Pennsylvania, and Christie Lyles, of the home. Three grandchildren: Connor Jade Cowan, Regan Kelly Cowan, and Morgan Anna Malloy, all of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by three sisters: Dianne Dadswell, Betty (Dale) Cozart, and Maxine (Gene) Cranford and brother Bob Heustess.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Fannie Rea Lyles; mother and father in law Mary and Jack King; and sister and brother in law Shirley (Don) Arrants, and brother in law Chuck Dadswell.
