Bob was born in Bad Homburg, Germany on August 11, 1957 to Bobby Leonard Wilson & Hannelore Weidemann Wilson. He slipped away peacefully on May 27, 2025 with his family by his side at his home in Hartsville, SC.
Bob graduated from Hartsville High with his sister, Sherry in 1975. On his bucket list; attend his & Sherry’s 50th Class reunion in April, 2025. They did. The only thing missing was Bob’s long beautiful hair. Bob was so grateful to have been remembered by so many of his classmates.
Bob became a talented master craftsman, his specialty, rehab & fixing just about anything while living his dream as a musician & performing on a stage. He played both the guitar & bass guitar, often with very notable bands & musicians.
Bob loved his family, like Superman, he could always be counted on to “show up” when he was needed the most. In fact, he became his father’s live-in caregiver to take any burden off of the rest of his siblings. He even promised his dad he would stay on & take care of his mother for as long as he was needed. His disease kept him from this promise, but he would have.
Bob loved anything from the 50’s, he had an amazing eye for MCM treasures which he collected throughout his life. He was a star gazer, an astronomer. He loved taking & sharing amazing photos of the moon & planets with his high tech telescope. He was so happy to see that his great nephews, James & Patrick have an interest too.
Bob lived life on his own terms, he believed in fairness and stood for the oppressed and forgotten; he despised greed as the root of so much evil. Bob was kind & generous with his time & love. He was heavily involved with NAMI in Columbia SC, recognized as the “Volunteer of The Year” for his work with people experiencing varying degrees of mental illness. His heart was so good.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Bob L. Wilson, his brother Michael, his beloved Grandparents (Wilson & Weidemann), wife Patty & his favorite nephew Stuart Levan. Left to miss him include his mother, Hannelore Wilson, fiancé’ Kelly McIver, sisters Sherry (his Irish Twin) & Kristina Nobles (Frankie) Uncle Chris & Aunt Carol Linnon, nieces Hannah, Brianna & Vanessa, nephews Harrison, Patrick & Pierce, cousins both stateside & abroad and his beloved kitties Bebe, Crazy Cora (Sophie) & Ned.
