Betty Whittle Watson

Mrs. Betty W. Watson age 80 went to her heavenly home in the early AM of November 11, 2025 at The English Meadows with her loving family by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Mr. Kenneth “Gene” Watson, two daughters; Melissa Norton of Hartsville, SC; Karen Watson (Jason Wofford) of Florence, SC; and Grand Dog Oakley; along with special Sister-N-Law Elaine Whittle and lifelong friend Linda Huggins along with a host of other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Clyde and Blanche Whittle; three brothers; Marion (Romona)Lee; Bobby Kelly; and Marvin Whittle; Son-N-Law Craig Norton; Grandson Brayeton “Cody” Norton.

She loved her family and being a grandmother. Her favorite past time was a day of shopping and going out to eat with her friend Linda, her daughters or just simply plundering in Wal-Mart, TJ MAX, Hamricks or any other stores. Before she became sick she would take off for a day of shopping reporting “she would be back after while” and we all knew that meant when the stores closed.

The later couple of years she lived at The English Meadows where she called home and made great new friends that became part of her family. She was dearly cared for by the staff that has shown great compassion and genuine care not only for her but also her family during her time there. The family would like to express a great heartfelt THANK YOU for all staff at The English Meadows for going over and beyond.

Funeral services will be held Friday November 14, 2025 at 2:00pm at the Norton Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. John Hamilton and Rev. Joey Colson will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

The family request privacy at the residence’s during this time and all visitation will be at the Funeral Home.
