McBee, S.C.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Betty Sue Rhoad, age 76, who passed away July 4 will be held Monday at 1:00 pm at the St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Dan Papineau will officiate. Burial will be in the McBee Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday 4-6 at Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville.

Betty Sue was born in Hartsville, a daughter of the late Clarence Boseman and Odessa O'Neal Boseman. Betty Sue was an incredible mother, grandmother, wife, and so many other things. To her family, she always provided support, comfort, and most of all love in abundance. Truly a kind and beautiful soul, Betty was a treasure to all who knew her. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community in McBee. She was a faithful member of St. Mary the Virgin Mother parish in Hartsville, SC and had a deep and abiding faith.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Irvin Boseman and is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jack; 2 sons, Jason (LaDonna) Rhoad of Hartsville and Brian Rhoad of McBee; a sister Ann (Bob) Soforic of Hartsville, special nieces and nephews Kim and Kip McCoy, Steven Soforic, Dusty and Terri Rhoad, as well as many other nieces and nephews too numerous to count. But the absolute joy of her later years were her five surviving grandchildren, Jack, Clare, Patrick, Thomas, and Catherine Rhoad. Affectionately known to them as their Doodle, her love for them brought both her and them incredible happiness. Betty’s legacy is one of generosity, faith, and incredible love and she will be missed immensely.

"A Life So Beautifully Lived, Should Be Beautifully Remembered.

Norton Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the Rhoad family.
