Bessie Gilbert

Graveside services for Bessie King Gilbert age 90, will be held Wednesday at 3:00 at the Magnolia Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Gene Feagin will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:30 – 2:30 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gilbert was born in Hartsville a daughter of the late John Belton & Bessie Alma Kelley King. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. She retired from the Darlington County Water after 30 plus years of service.

Surviving are one son, Wellie LeRoy Gilbert III, Hartsville; one sister, Miss Frances King, Hartsville; three nieces, Mary Ann (James) Reynolds, Belvia Wint and Ann (JC) Rhodes, all of Hartsville; nephews, Belton King, Jr. and Glen (Elaine) McFarland, both of Hartsville; her favorite pet, CoCo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wellie LeRoy Gilbert, Jr., sister, Annie McFarland, brother, George Belton King, two nephews, Ray & Carl King McFarland.
