Hartsville, SC Services for Bessie Louise Hendrix Atkinson age 82 widow of David T. Atkinson will be held Monday, July 18 at 2:00pm at Gum Branch Baptist Church. Rev. Jeff Gardner will officiate, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday 3-5pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Atkinson passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011. She was born in Hartsville. The daughter of the late Edgar and Janie Vinson Hendrix. She was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church, retired from McBee Manufactoring, and she graduated from Lydia High School. Surviving are sons: Michael Gene (Geraldine) Atkinson, Charles Edgar Eddie Atkinson, both of Hartsville. Daughter: Kathy A. Layton, Hartsville. Sister: Delores (Charles) Tyner, Hartsville. 2 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons: Thomas C. Atkinson and Randall D. Atkinson.
