Hartsville, S.C. Bennie Harding, 87, died at home in Dillon Tuesday, January 04, 2011. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 3 pm at Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Bev Kennedy and Rev. Dickie Cullum will officiate with the burial at Gum Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 6-8 pm at Norton Funeral Home in HartsvilleMr. Harding was born in Chesterfield County to the late Fletcher and Ada Rogers Harding. He retired from Dupont May Plant after 33 years. He served in the 165th Combat Engineers during WWII.Mr. Harding served as Deacon and on several committees for many years at Gum Branch Baptist Church. He attended West Hartsville Baptist Church from 1985 to 2007 and attended First Baptist Church Dillon after 2007. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn King Harding; one daughter, Brenda (Ricky) Talbert of Dillon and three sons, Ben W.(Vickie) Harding of Olympia, Washington, Ron J.(Cathy) Harding of Hellertown, Pa, and Allen R. Harding of Seneca, SC.Grandchildren are Sybil Talbert, Jackie (Will) Shelley, Richie (Jocelyn) Talbert, Rebecca Harding, Ronda (Reid) Powell, Jamie Harding, Justin (Frannie) Woods, and Nicholas Harding.Great grandchildren are Benjamin Harris, J. Evan and Riley Shelley, and Ayden Woods.Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice. www.nortonfh.net
