Barbara Jean Hylla

    It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Barbara Jean Hylla. Barbara, 76, passed away Friday evening, June 20th, 2025, while at home with her family.

    Mrs. Hylla was born in Rome, NY, a daughter of the late William C. & Fay Machamer Smith. When remembering Barbara’s life, her children remember how much of herself she poured into them. Her family was her life, and she would have done anything for them.

    Surviving are her children: Laura M. Howard, Jamie L. Hylla, Autumn F. (Pete) Noto, John W. Hylla, Amberly B. (Dustin) Stout; grandchildren: Michael J. Howard, Lilian C. Stout, Liz Hylla, Scarlett Hylla, Natalie Hylla; great-grandchildren: Townson M. Howard, soon-to-be, Mason Howard; brother-in-law, James E. Hylla; also surviving are several other family members and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John D. Hylla; and a daughter, Jennifer D. Hylla.

    The family will host a memorial service at a future date.
