Annie Lee Cassidy

December 9, 1925 — December 9, 2019

Hartsville, SC

Graveside services for Annie Lee Atkinson Cassidy age 94 widow of Theophilus R. Cassidy will be held 3:00pm Friday, November 15, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Pine Ridge Cemetery.  Pastor Wayne Cash will officiate, directed by Norton Funeral Home.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.

Mrs. Cassidy passed away November 12, 2019 at Carolina Pines RMC.  She was born in Hartsville the daughter of the late Bert and Martha Tyner Atkinson.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pine Ridge, she loved her church and her church family loved her.  She enjoyed working in her yards and pulling her weeds, “all weeds hated her”.

Mrs. Annie, though not great in stature or physical strength, met each day with a will and determination. Determined to be independent for as long as possible, she hated to 'impose' on anyone for even the smallest things. She read her Bible every day and believed in the power of prayer. She knew we may not get an immediate answer, but that the answer would come.
She loved her family, both immediate and extended, and was loved by all in return. She would often ask the question why the Lord was leaving her here for so long. Those who were blessed to know and love her, knew it was not necessarily for her benefit, but for those around her.

Left to cherish her memory her son, Danny (Joan) Cassidy, Hartsville; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Stalheim, five brothers and a sister.

Memorials may be made to the Pine Ridge Baptist Church, 3901 West Bobo Newsome Highway, Hartsville, SC 29550.

Norton Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Cassidy family.
