Ann Irene Stephens Sturkie

Ann Irene Stephens Sturkie, born October 23, 1953, peacefully passed away on April 27, 2026. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished for the warmth she brought into their lives.

Annie was a devoted family woman who found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones. She especially treasured her role as a grandmother, delighting in spoiling her grandchildren and creating lasting memories with them. A lover of the outdoors, she enjoyed visits to the beach, particularly when the weather was just right—not too hot—allowing her to appreciate the simple and soothing pleasures of nature.

Visitation services to honor Annie’s life will be held on April 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Norton Funeral Home and Crematory - Hartsville, located at 1414 West Carolina Avenue, Hartsville, South Carolina, 29550. This time will offer family and friends the opportunity to come together, reflect, and pay their respects.  Service arrangements will be updated on Wednesday.  The family will be meeting at Karen Mosleys residence on Wednesday, from 5:00-8:00pm, 1696 Lawhon Road, Cassatt, SC.

Annie’s family was the cornerstone of her life, and she leaves behind a loving circle who will forever hold her in their hearts. She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Anderson (Ricky Sullivan) Cassatt; her son, Pete Sturkie, along with his wife Brittany, also of Cassatt; and her step-daughter, Rhonda Sturkie of Elgin. She was also blessed with the companionship of her sisters, Welba Jean Boykin and her husband Joe of Cassatt, Kathy Hoover and her husband Lyndy of Cassatt, and Karen Mosley with her husband Ernie of Cassatt. Her brother, Jim Stephens and his wife Shirley of Bethune, remain as well. Annie’s affectionate spirit is also carried on by her two grandchildren, Autumn Sturkie and Harry Frank Sturkie.

Annie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elisha and Jean Duke Stephens, and by her brother, Albert Stephens. Their memories remain intertwined with hers, a testament to the close family bonds she so treasured throughout her life.

Annie Irene Stephens Sturkie’s life was one of love, dedication, and kindness. She leaves behind a legacy of familial devotion and a reminder of the joy found in simple pleasures and the warmth of family gatherings.
