Mr. Niles C. Hall, 75, passed away Thursday evening, December 26, 2019, while at Carolina Pines with his family by his side.
Niles was born in Darlington County to the late J.C. and Gladys Hall. He weighed only a little over a pound. Gladys kept her baby boy warm with hot water bottles. For him to survive at home in those days, were a miracle in itself.
Niles began working in sheetrock and construction at the early age of 14 with his daddy. After years of working with different companies and in business for himself, Niles concluded his career with Bonitz Construction Company. He retired after 20 years of service with them.
After retirement, Niles really got to enjoy his family. Especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were his hearts. He was also able to spread his love of Jesus. He would spend hours in stores talking to strangers about what the Lord had done for him. He truly loved the Lord. When Niles wasn’t taking care of his loving wife or playing with the grandchildren he enjoyed Westerns, Nascar, and Word Search puzzles. He also loved to fish or just talk about fishing. He was a wonderful husband, father and PaPa. Niles was also a friend to many and would do anything he could for them.
He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Barbara Gainey Hall. Children, Melette (James) Dixon and Claudia (Stephen) Nettles. Grandchildren, Zachary (Kelly) Dixon, Jeremy Dixon, Cassie Nettles and Abby Nettles. Great Grandchildren Jackson, Mason and Grayson. Sister, Vivian (Allen) Dennis. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws of which he loved with all his heart.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 on Sunday afternoon, December 29th, 2019, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home. Reverend Buddy Amerson and Reverend Carol Hall will officiate with burial following in Hall Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Saturday afternoon, from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff of Carolina Pines for their sweet and wonderful care in his last days.
Norton Funeral Home of Hartsville is honored to be serving the Hall family.
